Privacy

This site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no login, no shopping cart and no database of readers. That makes this page shorter than most.

What we collect

Nothing you type into this site is transmitted to us by the site itself. The review form on our review pages runs entirely inside your browser: it checks that the required fields are filled, shows a confirmation message and clears itself. It has no server behind it, so the name, email, rating and text you enter never leave your device and are gone when you close the tab.

Our web host keeps standard server logs, as every web host does. Those contain the page requested, a timestamp, a referring address, a browser string and an IP address. They exist so the site can be served and so we can see whether something is broken.

Cookies

We set no tracking cookies and run no advertising pixels. One item of browser storage is used: when you close the price bar at the bottom of a review page, that choice is written to session storage so the bar stays closed. It is deleted when you close the browser, it contains a single word, and it is never sent anywhere.

Fonts and other third parties

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google receives the technical details any web request includes. We receive nothing from that exchange. No other third party script runs on this site.

When you follow a link to a manufacturer

Buttons and links marked as affiliate links send you to a manufacturer's own website. From that moment their privacy policy applies, not ours. Their affiliate network may set a cookie to record that you arrived through us, so a commission can be attributed if you buy. We are not given your name, your address, your payment details or any other identifying information, and we could not look up an individual order if we wanted to.

Email

If you write to us at the address in the footer, we hold that email so we can reply. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, because we do not operate one, and we do not pass addresses to anyone.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

Because we do not hold reader records, there is usually nothing to export or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence removed, ask and we will delete it. Write to [email protected].

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
