The Milligram Supplement reviews
The Milligram is funded by its readers. Some links on this page go to the manufacturer's official website and we may be paid a commission if you order, at no extra cost to you. See how that works.

Affiliate disclosure

The Milligram is paid by commission, not by the brands we review. This page explains exactly how that works, in plain language, because a disclosure nobody can follow is not a disclosure.

The short version

Some links on this site go to the official website of a product we have reviewed. Those are affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the manufacturer or its network may pay us a percentage of the sale. You pay the ordinary price, the same price you would pay if you had typed the address in yourself. Nothing is added for having come through us.

Why we do it this way

A review desk has to be paid by somebody. The alternatives are advertising, which puts the brand in the room while the copy is written, or payment from manufacturers, which ends the conversation about independence entirely. Commission on a sale we did not arrange, from a company that has no say in what we publish and no advance sight of it, is the least compromised option we could find. It is not perfect. The incentive to recommend rather than warn exists, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

What the commission does not buy

  • It does not buy a score. Scores are agreed and written before any link goes into a draft.
  • It does not buy silence. The lowest score in our Sugar Reset table sits in the same public table as the highest, and the criticism in that review was not softened.
  • It does not buy placement. We do not run sponsored posts, paid rankings or "best of" lists sold by position.
  • It does not buy access to your data. We are not told who you are when you click, and we do not receive your name, address or payment details.

What we are not

We are not the manufacturer of any product reviewed here, not a distributor, not an authorised seller and not an official website for any brand. We do not process orders, hold stock, ship anything or issue refunds. If you need help with an order, a return or a refund, the manufacturer's support team is the only party who can act, and the address is on the site where you bought it.

The legal footing

United States law requires anyone with a financial connection to a recommendation to disclose it clearly, close to the recommendation and in language an ordinary reader understands. That is the Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements, 16 CFR Part 255. Our practice is a banner near the top of every page carrying affiliate links, a note beside every button, a footer statement on every page of the site, and this page linked from all of them. If you think any of that falls short, tell us and we will fix it.

About the health claims on this site

Products reviewed here are dietary supplements. They are not evaluated or approved by the Food and Drug Administration and they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Nothing on this site is medical advice. If you are managing a health condition, taking prescription medication, pregnant or nursing, talk to your own clinician before you start any supplement.
